These are all words that Chris Biddle knows how to use.
To hear him use them, and other multi-syllabic words, check out INTERNATIONAL STINGER in their triumphant performances, at The Playground Theatre. INTERNATIONAL STINGER has performed in the 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 Dirty South Improv Festival and at the 2008 Toronto Improv Festival. In 2005, they got a standing ovation from the over 400 seat house. In March 2005, INTERNATIONAL STINGER was accepted as a Member Team of The Playground Theater. Which means more shows, headlining slots and more toilet cleaning duties. (Hey, it can't all be sunshine and roses, can it?) INTERNATIONAL STINGER was also the hosts and creators of "OPEN COURT", the popular, longform, improv jam show, which ran from 200 8 - 2008. Chris has been playing with Stinger since Sept. of 2004.
Chris was also the Mainstage Designer for the 2004 & 2005 CHICAGO IMPROV FESTIVAL. In 2004, he brought 28 separate working doors to the stage.
In 2005, he created a ten foot tall, styrofoam globe. Hand-painted. (There was probably a smarter way to do that, but he couldn't think of it.) Chris spent the week of the 2005 CIF, palling around with David Shepherd (one of two founders of modern improv). They remain friends, to this day.
Chris is also one of the producers of the late-night, adult comedy show, "The Sickest F***ing Stories I Ever Heard". You can learn more about that show and even buy tickets for it by visiting the website www.SickestStories.com.
"Sickest Stories" performed in the 2008 Del Close Marathon in New York City.
Chris is also the On-Site Manager for the Playground Theater. In addition to general construction and environmental maintenance at the theater, Chris is in charge of the physical well-being of the facility. So, far, he's done a lot of work with the lights, installed the theater's projection system, supervised two all-day cleaning and repair jobs and disposed of a dead rat.
It is a very glamorous job.
Chris has also enjoyed numerous other side projects including...
His daytime employment with Victory Gardens Theater...
Writing, Performing and Directing in several Monday Pictures videos. (You can view them on Youtube, if you're so interested.)
His short stint as the Profcom Chair at The Playground Theater.
Directing and Performing with "HIMPROV" (his right-wing, ultra-orthodox religious improv troupe)
Production and Direction of the hit 2004 improvisational theater show, "The Monday Show". The show succesfully remounted in 2005.
Performance in the 2006 production of WNEP's "The Armageddon Radio Hour" on New Years Eve, 2006
Performing in THEATER MOMENTUMS' "FUGUE" in the summer of 2007
Hosting "Vaudeville & Vixens" with PIccolo Theater, in Evanston, IL in 2008.
Performance at IO Chicago in 2001
3 years of performance with The lovely gals of The Belmont Burlesque Revue.
Chris also regularly updates his blog. Email him and he'll be happy to send you the URL address for it. You can also be his friend on MySpace or FaceBook, if that sort of thing appeals to you.
Chris is an Aquarius, who enjoys long walks down dark alleys, The Decemberists, Wes Anderson movies, quiet nights at home, fighting zombies, Survivor, jazz music and his sweet little basset hound, Maggie.
His favorite color is Blue.
His Turn Ons include Mamoographical Symmetry, People who laugh at his jokes and naps.
His Turn Offs include Dirty Dishes, Rude people and Republicans.
