International Stinger

Bio

Formed out of The Playground Theater's Incubator Program, in March 2003, International Stinger is a flagship member ensemble of The Playground Theater. Their shows, which typically feature a narrative-based improv show with re-occurring characters and single settings, are accessible to new improv audiences and enjoyable to long-time improv veterans. Additionally, "Stinger" is known for their Halloween and Holiday event shows, which feature costumed characters interracting in crazy scenarios. They've been zombies, vampires, villians, elves, Dickens characters and hosted the first improvised Star Wars-themed Bat Mitzvah.

International Stinger is also very active on the Improv festival circuit, having appeared 4 years at the Dirty South Improv Festival and at the Toronto Improv Festival in 2008. "Stinger" also created and hosted The Playground's long-running improv jam, "Open Court" Members of "Stinger" can be seen performing at ImprovOlympic, ComedySportz, Laugh Out Loud Theater, and The Second City.

International Stinger is coached by Alan Hawkins.
